Remembering Rebekah Bowden

The Austin College community is extremely saddened today to learn of the death of senior Rebekah Bowden of Flint, Texas, following a single vehicle accident in Sherman. A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Flint, Texas. Rebekah was a leader on the Austin College women’s volleyball team.



A service to celebrate her life will be held in the Wynne Chapel of Austin College in Sherman, Tuesday, February 20 at 7 pm. A reception in the Small Chapel will follow the service. Read the full obituary.

    On behalf of the entire Austin College Department of Athletics and our current and former student athletes, we are saddened by the loss of this wonderful person. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, coaches and teammates. We are and forever will be thankful for the gift of Rebekah.

    Rebekah was a sweet spirit. I was so shocked to hear of her passing. It is my prayer that the family and friends will find comfort in knowing that she touched so many lives in her short time with us. You will be missed sweet lady.

    Heartbroken and shocked that Rebekah has passed. She was a very nice person. Gone too soon. Rest In Peace, Rebekah... you will forever be missed.
