  2. Lance was such a wonderful friend to me and my husband. He was my husband's best man in our wedding and he has always been a great friend to us both. If there were ever a person you could count on it would be Lance. Our circle of life long friends now has a profound hole in it...Lance will be greatly missed.

  3. i just found out this morning about Lance. Lance was always a good friend of mine and i had met him in college. he was always an adventuresome person and i always loved to hear of his adventures. lance was a very responsible adult who cared very deeply for people and loved history. in fact, he was the kindest person that i believe that i have ever met. he always had a tender heart for people. he will be missed very much by a lot of people. austin college should be very lucky to have had him and especially as a teacher. i will dearly miss lance and my heart goes out to his family.

  7. Lance was one of the smartest young man I have ever known. I've always admired the kindness he showed to everyone, his dependability and his uncompromising work ethic. He never did anything halfway. I will truly always have and empty place in my heart because to me I didn't lose a former employee, I lost a family member and a friend. I know he is now in the presence of the Lord and God has received this quality young man with open arms.

To the family my heart and prayers are with you.

  9. Lance was always very friendly and willing to assist students any time they stepped into the Adams Center. He diligently searched for opportunities for us; whether it was internships or grants, he always made information available to anyone who might be interested. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, especially Michela. May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time, and may you know the love and support of all of the members of the Austin College family.

  11. As a 2008 Austin College alumnus, I have very fond memories of Lance. Anytime that I would come into the Adams Center, Lance would greet me with a smile and usually ask how I was doing. We shared a love of history and government; his insights on were always very thought-provoking. Austin College has lost a man with a true servant's heart. My thoughts and prayers are with Lance's family during this difficult time.

  13. I had my encounter with Lance on the phone one day b4 Freshman move in day(i'm a parent) and my daughter was missing a tb test n that new parent panic began 2 set in so Lance was my calming influence n insured me that everything would b taken care of when she came to sign in during orientation & that he'd b there 2 help her with everything! I then felt at ease n also felt like i just added another friend at AC. My prayers are with your family at this time n i'm glad i got to know him even if for just a little while!

  14. I'm late to the wake here; was just trying to look Lance up on Facebook and sadly read this! Lance turned me on to espresso fg's sake! He and John Stig would make it in this exceedingly dangerous miniature still in their dorm room. Lance was a pure soul and we had some great laughs in college. I'm not surprised at all he has the reputation i'm reading here.
Maybe see him on the other side of the coming meltdown. I hope so!

  15. I promise i'm not smokin anything! It was FRANK and Lance that were roomates, John lived on the same floor as me in Bruce Dorm with Steve Calhoun...ayeeeee i dunno why my memory of that time would be so fuzzy!!? But all of us ran in the same crowd so i wasn't too far off. So where is Frank what's his name??

  16. This looks like a friend of mine which we both worked at Zytron Corporation in the mid-80's on third shift while he was attending college. I am just trying to locate old friends and came upon this. Does anyone know if I am right that we worked together and if so I am sadden by this old news. My condolences to the Lance Ott Family and friends.
